The dates for the yearly Graduation Ball and end of year Garden Party have just been announced.

The Garden Party will be the first event to take place on the 7th June, with the Grad Ball following three weeks after on the 27th June.

Not much information about the events has been released other than the dates, but last year’s Garden Party hosted a ferris wheel, canapés, live music and a firework display, before allowing students to head into The Stannary for even more music to send the night off with.

The Grad Ball on the other hand will be hosted at Pendennis Castle, exclusively for those graduating. Many students already aren’t happy about the date that has been chosen, with some finishing their courses in advance of the end of June date.

The FXU have since posted an update on date availability, stating that: “Picking a date for the Grad Ball is difficult because Exeter and Falmouth students graduate on different dates. Unfortunately, [27th June] isn’t going to be suitable for everyone but we hope it is fair and that the majority of graduating students can attend.”

They have posted a link to which students can vote between two dates. You can vote too here:

Both parties are put on by the FXU, who are the representative student union for both students at Falmouth University and those at Penryn Campus from the University of Exeter. You can view more about them and videos of previous events that they have put on, here:
