Falmouth’s International Sea Shanty Festival returns on the 14th – 16th June celebrating it’s tenth year anniversary. Thirty nine Cornish acts will be performing at various locations across Falmouth for the duration of the weekend raising money for the RNLI.

This year Falmouth Classics Regatta, traditionally a one-day boat race, falls on the same weekend as the Sea Shanty festival. The clash of the times has passed up an opportunity for the two events to collaborate so that they can provide entertain for the public on and off the water.

Chairman of the Falmouth Classics organising committee is happy with the collaboration and says that it is the right time for Falmouth Classics to take this step and become the event it’s always promised to become.

The event starts on Friday 14th at 6.30pm at the events square by the Maritime Museum. There will be a buffet and an official opening ceremony. Locations around Falmouth, such as Chainlocker and Five Degrees West, will then host the performances over the rest of the weekend. The Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival website states that it promises to be a great weekend.

Copies of this years event programme are available online here http://www.falmouthseashanty.co.uk/ or you can buy them during the event for £4. All money raised will be going to the RNLI.
